Nexus War

It is with great regret that I must write this posting.

The time has come to wind things down.

The monthly expenses for the game have exceeded any income from it for over a year now - I've been hemorrhaging money every month for a year, and I simply can't afford to do that anymore.

I will endeavor to keep all the secondary services running (the forums and the irc server), though I will likely move them to new hardware.

Believe me when I say that it pains me more than you can know to shut the game down. It is just no longer tenable.

This will probably occur at the end of the month.

I remember when you started this game, the whole purpose was to create a community of people who could play games together. I'd say you succeeded, no questions about that.

No need to apologize for giving us so many good times, good memories, and lost hours of sleep. It's been an outstanding time.

No need to apologise, thank you for paying for us all to have so much fun for these last 3+ years.

This has been one of the best games I've played, thank you for creating it for all of us.

Suffice it to say it will be missed, but that is simply credit to your achievement.

If you can provide a deadline at any point it would be appreciated, I'd certainly want to maximise the time I have left with the game.

Jorm, you are one of the most awesome people I ever encountered. And I just got to know Nexus War about 2 months ago. Wish I found this place earlier. Let me just say something:

As a *single* developer, you created the best game ever. Nexus War would have entertained me for years to come. But I understand that this is too much to handle for such a long time.

I had a great time, seriously, even though I will never have a T3 character.

It had a good run, and the fact that you plan on keeping the secondary services (forum/irc) active is a nice thing you didn't have to do that I, for one, appreciate.

It was a good run with a game that kept me interested for several years (*very* interested for 2+ years). Very, very few games that I've played have kept me interested for that long. It's encouraging to hear that the community might be able to stick together for a while longer with the forums and IRC.

Playing since Mon, 05 Jun 2006, I had a lot of fun following the game through its ups and downs. Hopefully the Nexus will make like Major Kong and go out with a big BANG...
